Topic of the Month
The Credit Crunch is here, so we are told. The UK is suffering, businesses are closing or cutting back all over Europe and staff are being made redundant.
Guernsey has seen the closure of Wallace Barnaby, Simco is about to finally close its doors and the Landsbanki problems have brought heartache to many savers.
However what does it all mean to CGi members. Has your bank tightened its grip on your finances, are some banks behaving better than others, how are your customers reacting, is the worst yet to come?
Why not discuss the Credit Crunch on the forum - it's good to talk!
Have your say on our forum.

Deputy Carla McNulty Bauer met members of the CGi to discuss the Commerce and Employment's Business plan for 2009. In the discussion members criticised the Department for not doing enough for Light Industry in Guernsey and she heard how Zero - 10 had put up their operating costs in the Island.
Members also expressed concern at the amount of spending that was carried out in support of Finance, compared to Light Industry and the Minister explained why their efforts were concentrated on promoting Finance and Tourism and how this promoted the Island as a whole.
It was also suggested that there should be more incentives for people to start a business in Guernsey and it was commented that it could be a long time before the Island attracted another entrepreneur like the Perkins family or Derek Coates.
