Ferryspeed is a privately owned business, based in the Channel Islands, operating a high quality distribution service across all temperature ranges. We deliver direct to retail and wholesale addresses on both Jersey and Guernsey using our own depots and staff throughout. Our reputation is such that we are nominated carrier to principle Channel Island customers and bluechip UK suppliers. We have been trading for over twenty years.
Ferryspeed is the gateway to Guernsey and Jersey for UK importers and exporters. A wide range of time-sensitive goods can be accommodated from single packages to pallets and complete trailer loads. Currently the largest independent shipping operator to the Channel Islands we offer a next-day service, seven days per week, from our rapid turnaround cctv. monitored depots in Portsmouth, which are open seven days a week. Our own depots in Jersey and Guernsey ensure that all consignments are delivered on a timely basis according to individual customer requirements. Additionally, we employ separate p.o.d. clerks operating through a Scanfile system to supply accurate invoicing details back to our customers.
The fleet comprises 13.6 metre trailers, chilled, frozen and ambient, and also double deck trailers to maximise the space available. On the island, a mixture of local delivery vehicles ensures that the goods are delivered promptly and in good order.
Since the merger of Channel Express several years ago, the Longue Hougue depot continues to serve the needs of the horticultural industry, with the export of cut flowers, pot plants and produce (tomatoes, aubergines, peppers and herbs).
Profreight is our specialised service for the shipment of furniture, fine arts, antiques and household removals. It operates out of our Ackworth Road depot in Portsmouth. All goods are protected with blankets and carefully secured to prevent movement during carriage.
A dedicated fleet of demountable vehicles with the ability to hydraulically lower themselves to ground level enables us to load directly from our customers premises. These vehicles are built to Island specification and therefore eliminate the need for double-handling of your precious cargoes.
