New IT firm spots gap in the Guernsey market
Guernsey’s smaller business market is set to benefit from a new IT firm which aims to champion its unique IT skills.
Resolution IT is the brainchild of three individuals: Olly Duquemin, Steve Brehaut and Phil Duquemin.
Both Olly and Steve are qualified Microsoft engineers and collectively have 13 years’ IT experience.
Steve explains why the three have embarked on this new venture,
“We want to provide an affordable local IT service for small businesses and home users which delivers robust IT systems.
Smaller firms are disadvantaged because they’re unable to employ full-time IT professionals and are often subjected to high call out charges when problems occur.”
Steve’s IT career began in the UK and more recently he was head of engineering for a local IT company where he designed and implemented small business networks, including Internet, email and back-up solutions. He’s also a qualified Microsoft certified professional.
Olly, a qualified computer engineer and a Microsoft certified professional, has many years experience of supporting the IT requirements of large, medium and small organisations as well as the home-user.
Olly shares the secret behind Resolution IT’s approach to clients,
“IT is a specialist field and it’s not possible for everyone to be an expert, so providing user-friendly support that clients can understand and trust is the key to being successful.”

Phil, Olly’s father, brings an array of commercial experience to the table, including his background in chartered accountancy, his days as managing director of a local large office technology company and, most recently, as Chairman of the Confederation of Guernsey Industry.
As Chairman of the CGi, Phil is aware of many new start-up firms in the non-finance sector and believes Resolution IT has an interesting value proposition to offer,
