Maintaining accurate records during Covid

Public Health has asked us relay to members the importance of maintaining accurate staff records during Covid, so that key contacts can be followed up quickly if required.

It is requested as part of your business continuity plan, you continue to keep up to date information on your staff and the shifts they have worked. This is also relevant to those who visit your premises and for off-site visits by your employees.

If a person tests positive for Covid-19, whether that be a member of staff or a client or customer, it is really important that the Public Health’s contact tracing team is able to follow up quickly.

Public Health is also still finding that there are some staff who have not been vaccinated. At this point, all over 18s have been offered at least one vaccination and we have just announced the programme for 16 and 17 year olds. Obviously no one can force someone to vaccinate but for customer facing roles it is all the more important for business continuity and the safety of customers.
