States warns local businesses of cyber security threat

The head of cyber security at the States has asked us to remind members of an increased threat to the UK and to ensure their systems and processes are secure.

This follows the news in recent weeks that Russia has designated Guernsey as an ‘unfriendly state’, which may raise the cyber risk profile of organisations in the Bailiwick.

Some of the more common threats posed include malware, ransomware, Business Email Compromise (BEC) and phishing.

The CGi will be running another cyber security workshop in the next few months with Black Arrow Cyber Consulting and members are invited to this event which is provided as part of your membership.
